My research focuses on understanding the optoelectronic properties of the transition metal dichalcogenides, especially when combined in heterostructures. To do this, I carry out pump-probe measurements using an ultrafast Ti-Sapph laser and a custom-built scanning microscope.

I have collaborated with Javier Garay's group to understand how neodymium-doped aluminum nitride can be used as a high-power, durable laser material.

I am also interested in learning how to better present science, both to technical audiences and the wider public.
